FAR FROM THE WORLD
- A BLEU EVASION STORY -
AMAN
DOCUMENTARY
Description
This short film captures a rare moment of transmission between generations.
Around the fire, deep in the primary forest of Sumatra, we filmed this moment without a script.
Manga, a young Mentawai, questions his uncle, Aman Lepon, about Arat Sabulungan, their ancestral religion. Through Aman’s words, we discover a worldview in which the forest is a sacred balance to be preserved. A knowledge at risk, which Manga must understand before it is too late.
With this film, we wanted to capture the essence of a vanishing wisdom.
Because some stories must be heard. Before they disappear.
