Description
In the heart of Marseille, a collective decides to provide shelter for migrants: the Saint-Just squat is born.
Upon our arrival as volunteers within the squat, the idea of leaving a mark becomes evident: the fragility of this precarious place facing the strength of solidarity. By filming incessantly for a year and a half, "18 MONTHS" takes shape.
A genuine community emerges in front of the camera. From four migrants at the outset, they number 400 by the following autumn. Organizations, meetings, codes of conduct, access to healthcare and education—all contribute to this human experience captured by the film, showcasing victories while not shying away from failures that do not dampen hope.
With "18 MONTHS," we aimed to underscore our deepest conviction: solidarity is much more than a mere concept; it is a fundamental pillar of our humanity.
